Texel, the pearl of the West-Frisian islands
A Texel holiday means complete enjoyment of a versatile island. Texel is richly endowed with huge natural areas; forests, moorlands, dunes and many kilometres of clean, patrolled beach. Moreover, how about the largest protected nature area in The Netherlands: de Wadden (The West Frisian islands) where you can fish, swim, surf or take a seal tour in total peace.
For young and old
There are many things to do on our West-Frisian island. Visit historic villages and traditional markets, cycle tours, go-karting, canoeing, take to the air for a round-trip, and even parachuting... on Texel nobody needs to be bored. All of this in the place with the most hours of sunshine in the Netherlands!
Should the sun shine a little less frequently, you can visit the sub-tropical swimming pool, the tennis and squash courts or go bowling. For those who fancy it, there is a cinema and several museums, including the Juttersmuseum (beachcomber museum), the Cultuur historisch museum (Cultural historical museum) and Ecomare with its well-known seal shelter. The dairy farms (milking sheep!), the quilt factory and the brewery are great attractions for young and old.
